Sportfishing Charters
Costa Rica offers a dream for anglers to fish the prolific waters off the central pacific. The billfish are in numbers and every day is a journey that could result in a grand slam. The main thing here is the current and when you get a good current pushing blue water and bait, you’ll get bites, period! Many charter boats here run 30’-36’ as you really don’t have to run that far. 10 to 25 mile runs to blue water is where the billfish action is found. Both Los Suenos Resort & Marina in Herradura and Marina Pez Vela in Quepos has charters available.

OFFSHORE:
SAILFISH: The main billfish species here with the best months from December through May. It’s not uncommon to release 5-10 per day. Sailfish here are twice the size of the Atlantic Sailfish.
MARLIN: Black, Blue and Striped Marlin run year round with the best months from January through September.
TUNA & DORADO: Tuna and Dorado are caught year round.
WAHOO: Random Wahoo caught year round as well.
INSHORE:
ROOSTERFISH, SNAPPER, GROUPER, JACK,
CUBERA, SIERRA: Caught year round
